Rinki packaging update
by Ellen Thornton at 13:43 in Emerging, Packaging, Environmental
There have been changes announced by Finnish packaging scheme, Rinki, to their packaging declaration to be introduced from 1st January 2019, to be applied to 2018 data. These include exclusion of deposit packaging, separate reporting of conventional and biodegradable plastic packaging and more specific definitions for wooden packaging.
Deposit packaging will be removed from reporting obligations where the old form had separate reporting rows for deposit packaging made from plastic, metal and glass. There will also be additional separate rows for conventional and biodegradable plastic packaging as well as conventional and biodegradable shopping bags and small bags. Furthermore, the rows for wooden packaging will be more specific. FIN pallets will only be for stamped FIN pallets (100 x 120 cm) that conform to the standard. The EUR/EPAL pallet row will be for stamped EUR/EPAL pallets (80 x 120 cm) that conform to the standard only.
