Lorax EPI Certifies as a B Corporation
by Michelle Carvell at 08:27 in Success, Team
We are thrilled to announce today that we have been certified by B Lab and achieved our B Corporation certification.
We now join more than 800 UK companies and a global community of 5,100 businesses who meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability. All B Corps have committed to redefine success in business to be as much about people and planet as it is about profit.
Our journey towards certification started more than 18 months ago, but this step is really just the beginning of the process. The B Corp Certification provides us with a framework to develop and grow our business by applying standards and best practices around 5 core areas of Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. This embeds the idea that businesses should not operate alone, but form an integral part of their community and serve all of their stakeholders. One of the requirements of certification will be to provide continual reporting against this framework to keep us on track.
Our purpose at Lorax has always been clear: provide straightforward, transparent solutions to help companies with the ever growing, constantly changing, range of voluntary and mandatory environmental reports. We specialise in the fields of EPR, plastics, packaging and corporate sustainability metrics. The role we play, by providing education, data transparency and compliance, is key to one of the B Corp Principles that we are all dependent on each other. Our ENVI™ software and the data management support and knowledge around it, keeps businesses compliant and unlocks decision-making value. This supports companies who are working to solve some of the key issues of end-of-life packaging and product management.
